Ras Runs Half Marathon

Ras lost her mind this last weekend and ran her first half marathon (13.1 miles) with her friend Lisa. The conditions were miserable. Down pouring rain and wind gusts to 40mph along the race route on the usually beautiful Pensacola Beach. It was a red flag day to boot. Did the girls back down in the face of a vengeful Mother Nature? Hell no. Did I take the kids and cheer mom on from the warmth of the car? Hell yes.

There was a sweet after party for the run at Captain Fun on the beach. I drank free beer. We partied with Lisa and Cindy. It was a blast. The band (Dirty Mutha Truckers) banged out some great tunes and took a liking to our table. Mikey rocked so hard that the lead singer pulled him on-stage to rock out. What helped was that the band played a lot of hits from the many Guitar Hero games we own.
