Memorial Day at the House

We stuck around this weekend and spent most of the time in the pool. The water temperature is 85. We did a night swim that was fun. We bought a few more plants, including some more palms, to add to the back yard.

We started to prepare for the hurricane season. I bought a 8000W generator. That is big enough to power my major appliances including the blender I will be running making hurricane drinks for the neighbors.

A generator big enough for a hurricane named "Roxanne"

Out for a night swim

This movie is of Mikey flying through the air into the pool. You have to watch it sideways because this is how the operator (Ras) held the camera

No rules

Ras is up north visiting friends and family in Michigan. It has been me and the kids since Thursday. It has been fun. It is Sunday night and I finally cooked something (sloppy joes) and made the kids drink milk for the first time since Ras left. We have been swimming every day. I got the kids in sunscreen, but without Ras here to tell me to put it on myself, I forgot. I got burned again. We saw Iron Man today as well. Damn good flick. We ate at Cici's Pizza, McDonalds, What-A-Burger, and the Mendoza's while Ras has been gone. We sayed up till 10:30 last night watching Man vs. Wild. When I woke up this morning, Mikey was on the couch eating from a bag of chips. Rules go out the door when mom is gone.

Milk and sunscreen are for suckers.

Here are some photos from the backyard, and Mikey swimming in the deep end...

Spring in Pensacola

With the temps in the upper 80's, the kids have been spending a lot of time in the pool, on the beach, and on the court.

Sammy is getting pretty good at diving.

Ras will be in Michigan this upcoming weekend. I was there this past weekend. It was cold. Only in the 70's. Wings up 3-0. Pistons up 3-1. I am wearing my Detroit gear.

Catching up...

We have been having trouble with our internet connection, so I am throwing a bunch of photos together from the past couple of weeks...

Larry and I went fishing twice while he was here. We saw a 10 foot alligator one day swim out of a bay we wanted to fish in. I caught this strange needle fish.

The bluegills get big down here. Larry caught one that was kissing 10 inches. We had a real good fish fry that night.

Ras and Sammy went on a school field trip to Florida's capitol of Tallahassee. They went by tour bus and had a good time.

Some old hippie telling some treehugging story, brainwashing American youth on the dangers of global warming.

While they were on their field trip, Mikey and I got bored of throwing the basketball on the roof, so we bought a hoop. MJ is about to get schooled by Rasheed Grimace.
