All Sports...

Some of you know that Ras and I have partnered up with a two other couples to start our own business in the town where we live. All Sports Consignment is our store that will run off the same principle as a Play it Again Sports. This is not a franchise though, we are going on our own with this one. It is pretty exciting to see the progress being made. We signed the lease on a 3000 square foot building and are now involved in the build out. We purchased shelving from a Boaters World store that is closing in Pensacola and we have been up at the store sanding, painting, etc. for the last week. It has been pretty crazy. The signs for the store were installed yesterday and look sweet. We are taking consignment starting next week and the store officially opens August 3. We plan on having a grand opening and are trying to get some local sports guys to come over for the day. For all you Tigers fans, we are trying to get Travis Fryman as he only lives a few miles out of town.

I will update the blog more often in the future, but here are some photos of before and after shots of the build out.

Before shot of the nasty color scheme of the old place. It was a sandwich place and a religious bookstore previously. Lord loves sporting goods.

I forgot to take a picture, but in the corner under the white coat of Killz primer was a mural of Noah's Ark. It will now be the area to test putters.

Behind this counter is where the girls will sit in their skimpy All Sports uniforms, sipping on Starbucks.

The front of the store is all windows. Nice. The kids have been jumping around on the hippity-hops while we have been working.

Under the slat boards for displaying inventory, I threw the names up of the three families representing All Sports ownership.

Slat board walls installed.

Mikelio makes his debut...

Mikey was in his pre-season tournament today. His team, the Astros, played a doubleheader. His team lost both, but played hard. Mikey did awesome. He hit a double in the first inning that scored two runs. He played all around the diamond. Started both games as pitcher, then rotated around to second, left field, and left center. Chubbidy check-it, before Mikey ruggity wrecks it.

The earth is covered by 80% water, Mikey covers the rest.

Mikelio moments before he sends one up the middle. Two RBIs on the night.

Night on the Town

Went out for some nightlife after a day at Disney. Here are some shots...

We went to Lego Land while we waited for a table at Planet Hollywood.

If we would have only gone to Lego Land, Mikey would have been happy

Mikey on a Harley. Even sitting still, the bike was almost too much for him to handle.

Sammie and I ready to dish out pain. Horrific pain. Pain you do not want son.

Vacation - Day I - Epcot

You all know the drill...family goes on vacation, takes lots of photos. So, I will be posting highlights for the next couple of days...

Terror Dome
This bass in one of the ponds must have gone 7 pounds

Me and Sammie got animated. Nice.

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines......

Mikey had his Boy Scout Pine Wood Derby race today. It was intense. After three heats, Mikey took two first place finishes, and one second. His car was ultimately brought down by a close race with the champion. Mike represented his roots well. His car number was 30, after his fav Tiger. His car name was registered as "Speedlio". His driver even had some wild hair like Maggs. Fortunately, his car placed better than the Tigers did.

Speedlio on the far left, in the starting blocks.

Speedlio takes 1st in heat #2. Turn up the volume to hear Mikey's reaction.

Car owner Mikey (fresh from a front tooth extraction) with his cert.

I heard some folks in the crowd whisper that he reminded them of Junior

Mikey also received an award for Most Creative. His car was the only one at the race with a driver. A noticeable edge.

This photo was taken moments before the driver stood up and did a back flip for the fans.

Mikey gets schooled in the Sweet Science...

Mikey went to a baseball clinic this past weekend. There were former pros from MLB (Expos, Rockies, and Cubs) to help coach the kids. There were two scouts also giving the kids tips, one from the Cubs and one from the Mets. It was pretty sweet. Mikey got his picture in the paper. I put the link at the end.

The Milton and Pace HS Varsity teams assisted. Mikey being told to keep his elbow up. Throwing a 4-seamer.

Mikey and I both get our hair cut at Sport Clips. So, this was pretty exciting. Big ups SC.

Check out this site from the Pensacola newspaper. Representing all those living near da real 8-Mile!

Also, once you launch the site above, Mikey also makes an appearance in the previous two photos (I did not notice this until later)

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

We've been playing the Wii. I have been battling beasts in Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, Mikey and Sammy have been racing MarioKart (thanks Uncle E and Aunt T), and Ras has even been using the axe to play guitar hero. It's too cold to go outside. We're talking low 50's.
